NO TIME FOR A DAILY PRACTICE THAT GIVES BACK?

REPLENISHING IN A FEW MINUTES IS WHAT DAILY PRACTICE IS ALL ABOUT

JOURNAL: I WISH I HAD TIME FOR____BUT I SPEND A TON OF MY TIME ON.....

BY Jaynie Brazell

Making room in your life for what you value and want to experience more of is as simple as you make it.  It can be as simple as:

  1. Pausing where you are to take a few deep breaths.
  2. Saying an affirmation in the shower or when lighting a candle.
  3. Expressing appreciation as you eat

Waiting for that spare time to show up once a set of other things are done to give yourself permission to breathe, reconnect to your core and feel your heart keeps you away from the sense of lightness that makes the list of to-dos flow so much differently. Replenishing in a few minutes is what daily practice is all about.

Your personal source of energy flows more fully as you consistently attune to it. Distraction keeps this from happening efficiently.  Lots of time does not make the connection stronger. Consistent moments in time do. A daily practice is a way to slip in between the inner and outer realities.  This is timeless in its own way. It gives back more than it takes.

The connection with the Source of Life itself connects several other events in uncanny ways that plans and work cannot. Looking outside for “answers” creates unending to-do lists that often do not connect the dots. Feelings that hold the sense of what is good about what you intend for the day draw together the connections that would be easily missed. Everything already exists that needs to. It is just waiting to be linked up.

This “connecting the dots” behavior is the practice and may feel unusual or impractical at first. Acting on it with one step can and riding it out until it becomes the norm happens as you see the dots showing up and getting confirmed more and more. Much of what used to be important, often fade away like old drama, once the much more curious themes and patterns are recognized and take on a life of their own for you.

When you want to find the time to have a daily practice that you value, and easily drop all the resistance that fills the whole day with the same old tasks, just choose to check-in with yourself in some specific way each day. Choose a practice as a priority. Choose one that you know is a no-brainer when it comes to the amount of time or effort it takes.  What you have to give now is where to begin.

Stepping into your everyday living from a sense of deep calm - changes each scattered, frantic thought as it arises. Do you have “no time”? Use a few seconds at a time by choosing to take a deep breath and recite a meaningful affirmation or intention. Do you have a few minutes? Choose one that easily fits that spot and work it into your everyday routine. Whatever you have is enough. The connection is always available.
